Making the Most of Your Appointment

To help us provide you with the best possible care and ensure your appointment is effective, please take a moment to prepare. A little planning helps us focus on what's most important to you.

Before Every Appointment

  • Prioritize Your Concerns: Please think about the most important health issue you want to discuss. For most appointments, we focus on one primary concern to ensure it is addressed thoroughly. If you have multiple items, please make a list so we can address the most pressing issue first and create a plan for the others.

  • List Your Medications: Have a current list of all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements.

  • Write Down Questions: Prepare any questions you have for your physician in advance.

Choosing the Right Appointment

To ensure you receive the right care at the right time, we offer a range of appointment types.

Important Note: When booking your appointment, please be as clear and specific as possible about the reason for your visit. This helps our staff assign the appropriate appointment type and length, ensuring we have enough time to properly address your concerns.

  • General & Preventative Care: We offer appointments for general health concerns, annual physicals for both adults and children, prenatal visits, and routine screenings like PAP tests.

  • Urgent & Acute Care: We have dedicated appointments for urgent, same-day issues, sick children, and specific illnesses or injuries. These visits are intended to address new, pressing problems that require timely attention.

  • Specialized Consultations: For more complex issues, we offer longer, focused consultations for topics such as mental health, menopause, or chronic migraines. These in-depth appointments allow for a comprehensive assessment and management plan.

  • Procedures & Administrative Tasks: We perform many in-clinic procedures, including injections, suture removals, wart treatments, and dressing changes. We also have appointments for administrative needs. Please note that an appointment for prescription refills is strictly for that purpose and cannot be used to discuss other medical concerns.

Important Booking & Preparation Notes

  • Call to Book: Certain appointments, including New Patient "Meet & Greet" visits, WCB claims, and urgent same-day slots, cannot be booked online. Please call our clinic directly to schedule these.

  • Bring Paperwork: For appointments like form completions or a Driver's Medical, please bring all necessary paperwork with you. For a Driver's Medical, also bring your license and corrective lenses.

  • Uninsured Services: Be aware that some services, such as Driver's Medicals and most form completions, are not covered by Alberta Health and have an associated fee.

Preparing for Your Visit

For All In-Person Visits

  • Health & Safety: If you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose), please wear a mask for the duration of your visit. Masks are available at the front desk.

  • What to Bring: Always bring your Alberta Health Care card and an updated list of your current medications.

For Virtual (Over-the-Phone) Visits

  • Find a Suitable Location: Please ensure you are in a quiet, private place where you can speak freely. For your safety, do not take the call while driving.

  • Be Ready for the Call: Your physician will call from a private or blocked number. Please keep your phone with you and ensure the ringer is on. We do our best to be on time but please be available 30 minutes before and after your scheduled appointment.

  • Have Information Ready: Have your preferred pharmacy's name and contact information available in case a prescription is needed.
